Andrew was appointed as the Church of Scotland
General Trustees heating consultant in 2000 and provides
services as an external adviser. Work for the Church has
included ‘Better Heating Scheme surveys’ of approximately
800 churches and manses and over 40 commissions for design
of heating systems in church properties. The latter has
presented challenges in designing services installations
which are both sympathetic to the character of the building
and compliant with current standards, providing energy
efficient design solutions and more recently considering
Zero Carbon goals.
